So the term missionary position was coined by Alfred Kinsey, allegedly taking from the work of Bronislaw Malinowski and his work in the 1920s with South Pacific indigenous people who apparently coined the name missionary position to describe the position that the missionaries approved of and not the local variations.
So whether that’s true or not, I don’t know, we researched it. We looked into it and it used to be known as the English American position.
So yes, folks, the English Americans have been doing it real nice instead of nasty forever and ever now.
So let’s say that we stop letting sex negative people and dudes from the 1920s, ’30s, ’40s, ’50s, and ’60s name sex positions. Because as a recovering Catholic, it’s kind of weird to do it in a missionary position, especially when missionary position is actually one of the most intimate positions.
And instead of emphasizing the fact that the man is on top or the person with a dildo, as you like it, it should really emphasize the depth of intimacy, the option for full connection.
And so we asked you on Instagram to give us some new names for missionary position.

Okay. So how do you mix up missionary?
The first is to eye gaze, right? Instead of having your eyes closed, look deep into your partner’s eyes. And what I like to do is actually take the pleasure from my pussy up into my heart.
So if you and your partner do this together, what it does is it produces a heart orgasm and it actually transforms and activates the nature of this position, which is that all of your chakras are aligned, which creates a heart explosion.
So it’s possible when you emphasize moving sexual pleasure into your heart in this position that you not only have a heart orgasm, but you can feel cosmically more deeply in love with your partner.
